Find answers to your legal question.

Do you and your partner/husband/wife have lots in common?

same interests? Hobbies? likes and dislikes?
Just curious if having something in common adds to being more compatable?

Some things we do, some things we don't.
I think with certain things being the same is needed in order for you to get along as a couple, but differences need to be present in order to add something interesting. Imagine being in a relationship with yourself, it'd be boring really.

YES...we are almost exactly the same. He's very outgoing and makes friends easily. We love being outside...we love vacations to warm climates, we love making fun martinis, we love having friends over, we love roller coasters, we love cooking out on the grill. We both work hard at our jobs, we spend money the same way (responsibly) but we have fun too. AND YES...being similar to me has been far more successful than being opposite (like I was with my exhusband).

Yes, So much. LOL. We say the same things we are both thinking at the same time, we do the same hand gestures at the same time. We can finish each other sentences. We love being around each other. We love the outdoors, camping, fishing, hiking, you name it, we do it together.

Yes, we have a lot of the same interest, hobbies, likes and dislikes.
It doesn't always mean you are more compatible. Sometimes it's good to have a healthy mixture.
Anyways even with all that my husband still left me.

We both enjoy travel and going out to nice restaurants. Our taste in movies is somewhat similar to a degree. As far as literature goes its opposite poles.
What I enjoy as humor she usually doesn't and rarely do we find common ground on that. I like opera, she hates it. Yet she enjoys classical music as much as I do.
Her hobby is gardening. Mine is wooden model ship building. I can get showered, dressed and out the door in less than 30 minutes. Her? Fuhgedaboudit.
I get up in the morning, have a cup of coffee and get dressed and I'm already doing things around the house or on my way out the door. She can stay all day in her pajamas drinking coffee and yakking on the phone to her friends and kids all day...which drives me nuts.

We have a fair amount of things in common. He likes the same movies, music and books that I like. That's important to me. We both love being outdoors. Neither of us are into playing video games or wasting too much time on the computer.

He is more hippie than me and that bugs me sometimes. The way spent our early 20s is very very different. He hitchhiked and lived on a commune for a while. I'm more of a conservative midwesterner. We both came from the same town though and were raised the same way. Both of our parents are still married after 35 years.

Not really. He is into politics and the military. I was in the Army and cannot stand to talk about the military with him because he is so convinced that he knows everything and it gets annoying. He seems to forget that I served also. All we do is fight when we talk about politics so I avoid that subject. Sometimes I think he argues just for the sake of arguing...to entertain himself.

I like fishing and drinking beer around bonfires with friends. He can't sit around and just talk to people or be patient and wait for a fish. He constantly has to be bombarded by some form of media (TV, AM talk radio, internet).

We are both into football and hunting. Which is a good thing. We have hunting "dates".

we have the same morals and ethics....we do share many of the same likes and dislikes...but we are also open to doing something that one likes to do and then doing something the other likes to do...and sometimes you will find that his item of fun now becomes your item of fun, etc.

Leapling
We have similar politics and outlook on life. We share a common ambition and drive to get there. We agree on being child free.

But he loves to mountain bike and I don't. I love to ballroom dance and he doesn't.

Then there is stuff in the middle where one of us is keener on it than the other but the other is happy to be included - like gonig to the theatre (me), European cinema (him).

I think it is what you are compatible in that matters. Could I have a partner who had very right wing views and wanted kids, no. Can I live with a partner who likes to spend his sundays getting muddy whilst I cha-cha-cha - of course!

absolutely nothing in common ,that's why the relationship is going to hell

My husband and I have lots in common. We both like doing things outside, like hiking, backpacking, climbing, running, and snowboarding. We do have things we do separately but for the most part we're very compatible.
