No, I believe a wife should not be submissive to a husband and a husband should not be submissiive to a wife. I believe a relationship should be based on level ground with both husband and wife being equals.

I love him, and I would never "wash his feet daily as a sign of submission to him." But, if I'm in a relaxed mood and he is stressed, I think it would be nice to wash and massage his feet not as a sign of submission, but as a gesture of love and appreciation. Maybe I'll do that sometime!

Although this seems far-fetched, it is or was a duty of a wife to wash her husband feet with milk and drink it. This ritual was or is practised in somewhere in the East, I believe in India. There is a movie called Mehandi rang Layegi where the wife perform this ritual which I find utterly disgusting..

That's a question for what ever culture that this a ritual for. I personally hate a mans feet most of the time there ugly feet. I don't believe woman should should have to do a lot of things that they are required to do in other countries. So NO!

that depends on your culture but I do live as a traditional wife and stay at home mom and I think that submission is not as evil as every one thinks and it is not as harmful eithier. Men are supposed to love their wives and wives are to see that they respect their husbands...it is my job to do most of the cooking cleaninig childcare and serving in my home but that is what I do when I am a stay at home mom...and we are all happy this way...thanks for asking but he can bathe himself feet and all though were he elderly and incapable it would be my privelige to care for him then and wash his feet isn't that love?

Anyway, you have got the thing back to front. It is generally the person who is in the role of authority who does the feet washing, Jesus washed his disciples' feet, and the Pope washes people's feet at a certain time of year - is it Easter? i can't remember.

If you are in charge in your family, then you should be washing your wife's feet, not the other way around.
