Do you believe in concept of soul mates?

I used to believe in soul mates, when I first met my fiance. Why? Because at first, he seemed to be everything I had dreamed of in a partner since I was a child. However, we have been through quite a bit together and we even broke up for 2 months. During those 2 months I realized that there are plenty of people I could love in this world, that would love me, that I could get along with and appreciate greatly. It doesn't mean I don't love my fiance very very much. It just means that had I been born 3,000 miles away, I possibly could have met someone else and been comparatively happy.

Furthermore, there are two other reasons why I don't think the concept of soul mates quite fits. My grandfather, first of all, lost his wife (my grandmother) when she was only 36, to cancer. He loved her very much and they had a great marriage. However, she has been deceased for about 35 years now and he is very happy with his current partner, Dot, who is a major part of our family. Who, out of those 2 women, would be considered his soul mate? Both? Only one? Neither? The other reason why I'm skeptical is because my best friend was killed in January, and she was engaged to my fiance's little brother, Shawn. Now Shawn is only 23 years old. Is it fair to assume that he has already met his soul mate, she died, and he will never have another opportunity to bond with someone like that?

Okay, I'm getting a little ramble-y here, but perhaps if soul mates do exist, then you can most definitely have more than one in your lifetime.

Yes, I believe in soul mates. I have had 2 and married both of them. First one died while we were in grad school, I dated lots of women till I found the 2nd one. But when I found her, I knew it. She knew it also and proposed to me after dating 5 weeks. That was 41 yrs ago. I don't know how many more we may have, but I know there are more than one.

Yes, for some there's only one, for others there may be several & for still others, there may never be one. Lucky is the person who finds his (or hers).

i believe there is that person out there just for you and when you meet them you might know it at first, but eventually you will, and you won't be able to live without them

I don't believe in soul mates, as in one person destined to be with another. How sad would life be if there was only one person we were supposed to end up with only we never got a chance to me them. Would that mean that we would go throughout our entire lives lonley and with a nagging feeling that a part of us was missing?

The whole idea, while extremely romantic-If you meet that person, is very tragic if you never do, that's why I do not buy into it.

Yes I am a believer in soul mates and found mine and new as soon as I saw him that he was the one. Keep looking everyone and to the ones who have gone through 3 or 4 relationships, that just means you rushed into the relationship and it wasn't your true soul mate. like I said, you'll know as soon as you set eyes on them.

Absolutly. I have been with my fiance for 4 months and something just clicked when i met him. Before I would have said no that you have to get to know the person before you know if it is ment to be, but now that it has happend to me I would say for sure, YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

I absolutely beleive in soul mates. I think you are destined to be with someone and you will find them. I am getting married next year and I feel this is a great example. My fiance and I dated when we were in high school. In fact, in the last conversation he had his last words to me were "I love you, remember that!" and when I said "I know, I love you too!" he said "NO!! I love you, remember that!" as in some 'dont ever forget' kind of way as if one of us was dying.

We never broke up, but I went overseas as an exchange student for a year and he went away to do some school stuff and we just honestly lost touch.

I don't know why but about 3 1/2 years ago I knew I had to find him again. I searched high and low and could not find him After I had been searching for him for about 2 years (11 years after we had dated in high school), by some freak accident, I randomly ran across his picture online when looking for a friend's website that I couldn't recall the name of. I emailed him from his website and we got together a few weeks later. The first time (as adults) that he hugged me before I left after coffee I knew that this was it. I have no doubt in my mind we were destined to be together.

I found my soul mate and believe it 100%! I believe that there is only one perfect match for each person on earth. God will help you find the right one.

I don't believe that someone was made just for you. I do believe that if you fall in love with someone and remain friends throughout your whole marriage, than you will always be happy and in love. You have to make a marriage work, you cant just assume that you are predestined to marry this person, and no matter what you do it will work out.

i don't believe in it. i think that everyone is so wrapped up in the concept that they are willing to overlook just about any flaw in order to make someone their soul-mate. yes, there are people that we are more compatible with than others, but soul-mate, no.

I do believe that when a man and woman meet who are BOTH mature and loving, it can sure feel like soulmates.

I'm on my third soulmate....my 1st one lasted 7 years.my 2nd lasted 13 years and my current one is on 11 years...looking at it I can honestly say I put too much into soulmate and always thought of it more like a fairytale....in todays world..it's very rare to find a soulmate...meaning if there isn't one absolute thing you wouldn't change about your partner then I would say he/she is possibly your soulmate...goodluck to anyone..growing old and wiser...

I believe that whomever you choose to be in a relationship with, is your soul mate for that time, if it last forever or a short time. Every relationship is a learning experience, good or bad, therefore your soul mate.
