Do you believe you can love someone and still cheat on them?

Ok, I'm 18 and me and my mom were debating about cheating. Now, before you answer this Im not saying only guys cheat..

Anyways, I was ranting about how some business men are screwing their co-workers, but they seem like the perfect husband that would never cheat. I say its very wrong and thee's no way he can really love his wife if he cheats on her, because you'd never want to hurt someone you love.

However, my mom thinks it's ok and she says he could still love his wife even if he cheats on her. She said that he cheats because he loves his wife and respects her too much to do those perverted things with her.

I say thats BS...

So what do you think?

You can not only cheat on someone and love them, but as noted above, its quite possible to fall in love with more than one person at a time. People who love each other hurt each other all the time. Life isn't a fairy tale.

My opinion is, yes people do cheat and say they still love their wife or girlfriend
But really they don't and they cheat with the person they like, so yes your mum could be right in some cases but mainly cheating is wrong and if you really love someone you'd never do it so really your mainly right

Oh dear! Was your mom ever cheated on? That might be why she is excusing such terrible behavior! People don't cheat to do perverted things with lovers that they wouldn't do with wives! That is silliness! People cheat because they don't respect their significant other enough to be honest or respectful with them. Cheating is a cheap way out. If a man loves his wife so much why would he put her at risk for the STD's he might bring home? Why would he risk hurting her and loosing her if he loved her so much?

You can love someone and cheat on them. The cheater is just more selfish than people who don't cheat. They put their own desires and needs first. But, it doesn't mean they don't love their spouse.

Yes, it's possible to love one and cheat with another.

But the one he says he loves, he certainly doesn't respect.

Your mom is a bit mis-guided; maybe someone has cheated on her and managed to sweet-talk his way out of it???? There's a thought, sorry.

Hello, AT first i got angry..cause ofcourse..there is no excuse for cheating ..he should be loyal or leave her...what a sad little fuck... But then..i thought..these are just inferior sad people who do things like this....who are too stupid to even tie their own..shoelaces...perverted..stupid and sad...to feel sorry for.. So whatever...
