to get a divorce yes you need to go through the courts if you two can agree on the divorce and sign an MDA together and the Decree together it will be way cheaper for you. call the local court house to find out how much it is to get divorced w/ or w/out kids (this makes a difference) then call attorney's to find out there fee and you'll know your price |

Sorry to say but at some point in time a judge has to sign off on the whole thing to make it legal. |

You have to go through the court system. You can however get the forms and fill them out and take them in without actually having to have a court battle with attorneys as long as you both agree. |

Ive gotten 2 divorces, and you have to go through the legal system to get divorced, just like you did when you got married. You file for a divorce, they set a court date for you to be there( if he is not protesting the divorce, then he does not have to show up, if he files and you have nothing to say about the divorce, then you don't have to show up) and when you or he appear on the court date, then your or his lawyer will be there also, when they come to yours, you or he will take the stand and answer the questions that the judge and lawyer have, are you sure you want this divorce, do you agree to the terms, etc. Its simple and quick, if there are not kids involved and arguments about ownership of things.
