Do you need a man to be happy?
Find answers to your legal question.

Do you need a man to be happy?

Ladies, I need your input on this. Does having a man make a woman much better in the long run?

In a short answer no you don't need a man. In the longer version, I am married and I love having my husband to share my life with. BUT before we were together (even though I was young when we got together) I was perfectly happy. I am a very independent woman so I don't need anyone to be happy I am very strong in that area. But this is one where it gets difficult because if it is a dream of yours to have kids and start a family, having that one person to share all your adventures with and raise a family together is a must. For one kids need a Mom and a Dad and they need to see what a strong healthy relationship is so when they get older they won't settle for anything less. So no you don't but depending on your personal dreams there may come a point were it would make you alot happier. Hope that makes sense :)

I think humans are biologically social, and having a constant companion makes us feel happier, safer, more fulfilled, etc. But, there are exceptions to every rule. I'm sure there are plenty of women who are happier on their own.

No, not really.
I was content with my cats.

Before I met the guy I am with now, I hadn't been in a relationship for over 5 years.
And I was actually fine with the idea that I may not be involved with anyone.

And if this relationship doesn't work out, then I think I'll retire from dating.
It's too much work, too many broken people out there, and just not worth the hassle.

Having a partner I care about in my life, does enhance it...but I do not "need" a man to be happy. The only one I need to be happy, is me. Others cannot provide happiness (for anyone but themselves).

I adore my lover and would love to have him in my life long term, as more than a lover...but I do not 'need' him (nor do I want to be 'needed'). That implies a deficiency one is unable or unwilling to take care of themselves, and puts an unfair burden on the other person.

I'd much rather be desired than needed... ☺♥☻

My taste in men has been horrible and I realized that until I meet someone decent I would be better off on my own and it's been a few years and I have never been happier, but if I met a nice guy I would certainly think about it. So, no I do not need a man to be happy or fulfilled.

um, yeah in a way. nobody makes me as miserable as he does and nobody makes me as happy as he does.

Depends on the qualifications you put on "a man". If you mean "any ol' man" then no. But, if you mean a special man, then yes. I believe we are more rounded as human beings when we have a male counterpart. But not just any man will do...Someone special!

Idk to be honest... I love my husband but I would be just fine without him.. I pretty much do everything alone.. experiance everything alone... Being with him makes me unhappy sometimes.. but it may just depend on finding that right one.
