No. The institution of marriage was created by God to preserve His relationship with His people. Marriage represents a covenant between a man and a woman. The Holy Bible states that a man should leave his mother and father and cleave to his wife; not his husband. It also says that when God saw that MAN was alone, he made WOMAN for the MAN.
I don't care who disagrees. Truth is truth. Why do two men or two women want to marry each other anyway? |

It should be legal.
People don't choose the way they are, they're usually born like it.
Everyone should be treated equally and justly in today's society.
Come on guys, it's 2008, not 1958. |

Yes. Love is love, everyone has the right to spend their life with the person they love. Anyways, straight marriages these days are a disgrace, who are we to say they can't.m |

Yes, I do. My husband and I have been married for 11+ years, and if one of us gets sick and needs to go to the hospital, we can take care of the 'outside' stuff, spend the night with them in the hospital, etc. We have friends who have been together over 13 years ... but because they are both male, they CAN NOT do that ... if one was too ill to sign papers, a parent would be called (both parents live in different cities) ... these two men love each other just as much as my husband and I love each other ... but if one of us dies, it is the other who will say where or how we will be disposed of, and the other who will inherit. In the case of our two friends, even if they leave wills, the PARENTS will have the 'say' about disposal of the body, and the PARENTS will be the 'major beneficiary' of any insurance, any assest held, etc. THAT IS WRONG. Yes, gay marriage should be LEGAL. In the case of our friends, the parents would both say the same thing ... the guys love each other and they should be allowed to be married LEGALLY ... and they will also let the 'partner' decide if one dies ... but not all parents are this way, and many parents haven't spoken to their children for many years BECAUSE THEY ARE GAY and to let them 'decide' what a life long partner should be able to decide is JUST PLAIN WRONG! |

OMG TOTALLY!!
anyone, whether they believe it's a "sin" or "stupid" or just plain wrong.... its better to be happy with the person you love rather than be made fun of the rest of your life and be miserable |

Since I don't think we should be governing morality, I think absolutely. How does this affect me? I'd rather see love than hatred. |

yes, i think it should be legal. though as a gay guy, i don't want to get married, i think marriage is a social institution with a christian background, not being christian, and not agreeing with most social norms, i wouldn't get married, though i think its only fair that queers have the same rights as straight people.
though i think all religions are completely whack, and filled with delusional idiots, i do think they have the right to say whether they will marry a gay couple or not. i just think that queers should have the same legal rights that married couples have, like sharing benefits and having one as a depend ant on your taxes, or whatever. so maybe a civil union or whatever they call it, bit a catholic church should not be forced to marry a gay couple if it goes against what they believe in, even if they do believe in fairy tails and magic white men in the sky. |
