I don't believe in sin. I also don't believe in god. I believe in humanity and people being good to each other as well as to themselves....not because they're afraid of getting punished, but because it's just the right thing to do. |

Thats the part of faith that you need to assume. If you ask God for forgiveness and genuinely mean it and mend your ways you can begin the process of forgiving yourself. It's the basis for christianity. God is all forgiving...unfortunately people aren't always so charitable. |

God forgives sin, that's his M.O.
Death Row is filled with believers! |

Judging from this section I'd say sin is already not taken seriously... |

Why bother believing in God if you intend to change his mind for him? |

Sin is not a thing in and of itself, but represents a distancing from God.
I don't think He would ever make light of that.
However, He is always there to offer us forgiveness. Forgiving ourselves is a start, but not the end of what is needed. |

If you sacrificed your only son for a cause would you forget about it?
No, not only would God not forget about it but the world would be full of chaos. |

No! Even if you are not religious, most sins are actually against the law as well! Killing, stealing and adultery are a few! |

Though I'm not religious I do believe in not killing, not sleeping around with your "neighbor's wife" etc. It has good ideas but I just don't buy it all. In any case, it really depends what you're saying here. I still think we should be accountable and try our best to just leave this earth having done something meaningful and been good to people. I think the only person you need to be accountable to is yourself. |

The bible says' "there will be no sin to enter into the Kingdom of heaven" so I think we should continue to take sin very serious b/c I don't think we will ever get God to change His mind considering He gave His only begotten Son to die for our sins. Jesus shedded His blood on the cross at Calvary for each and everyone of us so we may be forgiven of our sins, providing we seek and ask from the sincerity of our hearts. |

How about you just stop sinning? Forgiving yourself is your excuse for sinning in the first place. |

We all do things that are wrong, it's human nature, as long as we don't make a habit of it or do parcticularly henious things to people then I don't think anyone needs to worry. Sin is just a made-up religious word. I don't try to stifle my human nature. |

GOD NEVER CHANGES!!! He feels the same way about sin today as He did when He sent His Son to die for them!!! SO NO we should always take Sin seriously because it was what sent a sinless man to a cross...The weight of the cross was not the weight of the tree but the weight of MY SIN!!!! |

It's all a bunch of crap to me. If you do it and it feels good and you are not hurting your fellow man. Then do it. |

fokker - it's an airplane!

in general - society has stopped taking sin seriously...for a long time now. |
