when the time comes? " He's just not that into you" is pretty good. But does anyone else know what else is out there? I think 'the rules" is pretty good too. I just don't want her to get too hurt. I know it is inevitable that she will get hurt sometime, but I want her to be able to make smart decisions and not make the same mistakes I did.

I don't agree with marina. "He's just not that into you" will make her get over it and not stalk a man who doesn't call her. If he doesn't call, he doesn't care and she can just move on. That's why I like that book.

best way she can learn is from you. Instill values .. show her that she should have confidence and be proud of who she is and what she stands for. learning begins at home. Keep talking to her have girl talks and let her know that a man needs to respect her as she needs to respect him. |

He's just not that into you will give her unreal expectations.
Try mars and venus on a date.
**edit** He's just not that into you makes it seem like if a guy isn't all over you all the time, he isn't interested. That's all I meant by unrealistic expectations. The Mars and Venus book will also advise her to not go stalker on a guy. I just found it to be more realistic. |

You should just sit her down and explain to her that what you are going to tell her, she will not believe until she experiences it herself. Then go into things such as how men "fall in love" with girls who give them easy access to "the goods". And that a guy will tell her anything she wants to hear to get that. But at the same time she should give the guy a chance. She just needs to learn the signs of how guys use their silver tongue to *wow* girls. Explain some of the common moves and such that guys will do. |

Hmmm, when it comes to "love", no matter what book your daughter has read or what amount of advice you have personally given her...it will do no good. When she "feel" that she is in "love", no one or nothing will be able to stop her. From my experience, a first heart break is the greatest teacher of all because you never want to feel that pain again. You Wise up...you realize that love ain't all it's cracked up to be. |

After reading the book she gained a better insite to herself and found the strength to overcome the problems. The knowledge contained may help her prevent abuse in the first place. |
