Does anyone regret this?

Do you regret ever getting married? Not in just a negative way but looking back at how you and your spouse were before marriage.

I think about that now that I am getting divorced. I hate that I married my husband..marriage ruined the relationship and the friendship.. It was a reallly great.

I'm 34 almost 35 with 3.5 children my husband was the one. His dad couldn't butt out the marriage. We go to church. We were best friends before we actually got married and we waited two yrs to marry. My dad in law had a real serious problem with the fact that his son was happy and he wasn't and me being black had a WHOLE lot to do with that. Now we will have this baby who won't get the full benefit of a family bcuz people showing their true colors. So yes I regret marrying him just to end up like this. I miss him. And it's not for the better when u are pregnant and alone like this it took two yrs to get our baby and it would have been fine if only others would have butted out and let him be a man. His dad has been a thorn in my side since day one when he screws up his marriage he always tried to wreck ours. And this time my husband let him this time.

I think so too,when me and my hubby met as friends we had great times...talking over the phone dusk till dawn:),sometimes these days we have to be out of each other space,so we can relax.me and hubby had so many problems in this two half years marriage,mostly caused by mother in law,we thought to point we need to get divorced,but then again we thought what ever the problems we should work it out,we both had thinking time like a little break,so we are not in each other toes,after this we stayed together,because we both thought whats brought us together in the first place.and the reason we liked each other in the first place.and we both know that,we cannot bear to see each other with somebody else.
Im not saying it will work for everyone,once its done you cant take it back...that's advice my mother gave to me.Hope this helps hun!!

What makes marriage so worthless these days that people don't try to re-ignite that feeling they had before? It's like then whats the point of getting married if people won't fight for their decision.

Yes, I married at 20. I had totally unrealistic expectations about marriage and the future.

I am still married but totally unhappy.

I've been divorced for 3 years now and yeah I look back and see that marriage did wreck it all...
He changed into something I didn't like, he thought he owned me, I had really no freedom. Where as before we got on really well, it was great, we did a lot more things together and had time for each other. Then when we got married he just expected everything to be done for him and had little time for me or the activities we use to do together. I never had any children with him, even though he tried to pressure me to have children I thought it better not to back then I was only 22, I had my whole life ahead of me. I do reget getting married.. I now know that marriage is just an expensive piece of paper and if you don't want to wreck any more relationships don't ever get married again... its so over rated.
Since the divorce I now live in a different town, have a great job, met a really nice guy, planning to have a family with him and have the freedom to spread my wings and fly (so to speak). Its made me more aware of how strong I really am, and of all the things I can strive to achieve and have a lot more friends and feel better in general...
Sometimes I do look back and think I should have stayed married but then I remember the hell he put me through and thank my lucky stars I left when I did...

It definitely was not the marriage that changed anything about your lives. It was you two that changed . You do not fall in and out of love . Love is a lifetime committment . In answer to your question no I haave never felt that way

I dont regret the marriage I regret the kind of people my kids have married they are just so miserable and upset all the time it breaks my heart

I'm going through a divorce right now, and I'm much happier with the person I'm with than I ever was with my ex. The only really good thing that came out of my marriage are my two kids.

Almost seems as though I had to go through a crappy marriage just to find out what it is I really want and need out of a relationship, and I'm lucky enough to have found that.

I definately married my soulmate. I dated so many guys that when this guy came around I chased his @$$ for 2 years and then he finally asked me out. We are best friends and I wouldn't have it any other way. We usually agree on how to work out tough situations, it is the small stuff that I get aggravated at him about, but he puts up with me. We have been married for 2.5 years and I would have married him a lot sooner, if he asked. We were high school sweethearts and too young to get married, but I would have married him sooner if he'd asked me to. I love him very much and wouldn't have any other man! We both are actively involved in our church, we don't smoke, we don't drink, we don't do drugs, and we pretty much keep to ourselves. We enjoy each others company and just want to have a good time. We do just about everything together, and I wouldn't change a thing!

I am sorry that you are going through this, but maybe it is for the better. Just don't rush into marrying another guy so your baby can have a father figure in the home. Marry him for the right reason and make sure that you don't regret anything. If you have any doubts at all whatsoever, then he isn't the one for you! Best of luck!

I don't regret getting married at all. I love my husband and I love being married to him. We have been married for 5 years. I don't see how getting married would ruin a relationship unless you rush into it and get married before you're ready.
