((I LOVE YOU DARLING SO MUCH)

Our true love is invincible and will last a lifetime
Your love sends shivers up and down my spine
Our love grows stronger and stronger each day
Unbreakable and ever lasting in so many ways

Lady
Love is a choice and yes it can last a lifetime.

Wow, big question.
I believe if you truly love someone, you love them for life. However, here is the catch. Love can change, so you may end up loving them as a friend rather than a partner.
I love my ex husband very much, but only as a friend now. We married too young, have known each other for years now. He has been married since me and I get on very well with his wife. I also have a new man in my life.
I would never go back with my ex, but love him dearly and want him to always be happy.
So love does last a lifetime, but being "in love" does not always last.

No More
I believe that it does. Why do you think that breakups and divorces hurt so much? They hurt because of the loss and the separation. Now people certainly do things to one another that justify breakups and splits... but no matter what side off the fence you end up falling on I think you carry a piece of that love with you for the rest of your life.

We may regret choices and decisions but few people actually hate... love stays in their somewhere... it is more like people no longer deserve it... so you move on.

My brother went through and ugly divorce, ended up with custody of his children, and had his heart and ego destroyed... 18 years later when his ex was diagnosed with breast cancer he was the only one there for her... true love never dies, we just guard it so tightly.

I am lucky, my wife and I have been together for 13 years... married for 10. She is my first and only love and I could not imagine that love fading...

If you allow it to and work at it

it really depends on the couple and how much give and take ,respect, consideration, interests, all of which must be mutual the have for each other. Yes there is that honeymoon period that can last for years. the children come along and that gives focus on not only each other but the children. the trial comes when the relationship becomes challenge and you start to question who ,what,when,why......kids grew up get a job leave home, get married in the meantime if you don't dig deep and resolve the questions together you will end up moving on. you start think about the two of you again except there may be no future or anything to look forward to. .getting old together is that all there is left? life is short and one day you may wake up next to someone and think ? is it better the devil you know or the devil you don't? have i left it too late to start again? too many questions perhaps....Grab all the happiness you can while it lasts. maureen.

It can, but it has to be worked on continously. If one person only has
the love and the other doesn't what's the use of having it at all , after
all yes one can love one's self, but it one can give love and get love
then that is the key to happiness between two people. 22yrs so far
of love from both directions, my marriage is great, and my parents
gave love to each other for 55yrs, before they passed, so love is still
in the air.

Yes , for a lucky few it does. I agree that in this society many people don't give it a chance, but many also strive to find their one and only, only to get hurt.

Colin-why?
Love lasts generations.
Its who you share it with that changes

It would appear for me it might have, 30 years on and 30 years apart.

love really can last a life time..

my nan was 16 and grand dad 18 when they met they married 4 years later.
3 kids and a world war later they settled down to normal family life

grand dad died when he was 92 they had celebrated 70 years of marriage, its hard to find a platinum wedding anniversary card.

my nan is now 96 and frail but she still says good night to a photo of grandad every night.

sadly they will be together soon

so yes love can last a life time and maybe even beyond..

If you are with the right person and you work on it every day, then yes it can last a lifetime.

Well if you're lucky enough to find TRUE love then it will last a lifetime, but only a few of us are that fortunate . .

For some, who respect & treasure it, it does.

For those who mistake "attraction" for "love", no it doesn't.

Love is a giving thing. As long as both are giving all they've got, it should be sustainable.
If one, or the other "slacks-off", an imbalance occurs, and it can be catastrophic.

Some people, God Bless them, are just so natural at giving, it is simply amazing.
Others just "take & take", it makes one sad.

mother dear.
not really

Love is like anything else if you want it to it will. we all to often get to comfortable in a relationship and think it's just status quo. When you find it live it and never forget that rush you get from it.
