Does marriage feel like this for you?

I prefer home life with the hubby and children, and going out as a family unit. Friday and Saturday nights are nice to go out together to see a movie once in awhile, or have dinner etc, but I love to have lazy time with my hubby at home. Once in awhile we'll go out drinking and dancing, about every 3 months unless my sisters, stepmom or one of my aunts drag me out saying I'm a prude lol. It is nice at times though, especially since as a white girl I can drance really well. I tend to attrack a mix of races around me of men, which then gets my 2 left feet husband to actually dance with me. He hasn't figured out that I just love to move with him, I could care less what we look like.

That's life. Could be a lot worse. Sounds OK to me.
If U R bored in any way, just do some volunteer work. There is always room for your labor at an animal shelter, or your skills at a kid's camp, or your smile at a rest home.

So let me get this staight. Your love your wife....you like spending time with her....you sound satisfied with your life. I don't see the problem. If you're unsatisfied because she doesn't like to go out, then you need to talk and reach a compromise on that.

But overall...when you're young and married you will feel older than people who are the same age but still single. It's just a responsibility and a commitment that they couldn't even comprehend! It's not a bad thing. If you're happy with your life, then leave it!

Don't fix things that aren't broken!

if you think you feel old now just wait until you have kids lol. i'm 22 and on most days i agree with you guys, i want nothing more then to just hang out around the house but i still make sure to go out on dates at least twice a month just so we have something new to talk about, it's been 4 years for us so the convo is starting to run a little dry...

Not our early marriage no. Before kids, we were going out all the time, traveling, having fun. We could sleep in when we wanted to or run off on a weekend trip if we wanted to. Of course, that all changed after kids.

My advice to you. If you're planning a family, go enjoy your free time now. When you have children, it all changes......

if you're both happy, you're happy, and that's what matters.

however i would make sure to keep things interesting - try reading a book together, trying new positions, visiting new places, going on vacation, anything DIFFERENT once in a while to keep things from getting stale.

when people get bored, they tend to stop appreciating what they have, and bad things can happen to a good marriage.

only thing i can say is do something else. Like instead of going out with your friends if you invite her. Or, doing something that she likes. It will never hurt.

i am way much older than u and have kids and have been married way longer, but if my marriage ever becomes like yours i will kill myself.

So whats the problem? As long as you are happy with each other and your lives together, than i don't see a problem with it. My boyfriend and i don't really do much as outdoor activities. He plays video games, works on computers and loves music and movies. I love to read, write, draw, listen to music and watch movies. Other than that we really don't have couple friends to hang out with and we are happy with that. We are more of loners and we are loners together. That's what makes up happy and comfortable. If you aren't happy with just hanging out at home, you can always come up with some activities to do together.

If living as you describe makes you happy thats Ok.. Maybe you are just contented with your lot in life - if you are well then a lot of ups and downs may not suit you. You're happy and content - actually I think you are in the minority - lucky you!
