Does nature work in a way where marriage is meant to be an abuse on women, in long term?

the reason marriage in those days last till death, as how i could summarize based on many of the statements i found here.

"generally, women in the pastimes depend on their husbands financially to live, unlike many women today who can make their own money that they could always get a divorce without worries, since they can now support themselves"

another source is my own grandma, she told us that if only she can get a job, she would have just get a divorce and take care of herself and the 9 kids on her own, instead of staying with a husband (my gramp) who cheated on her.

so is it to say that marriages are meant to be abuse on women, at least in long-term, which the only reason for most women to stay in it is desperation and fear (like how it's common between women with no job)?

I can see how it would seem to be this way in a world where women are placed in a role where they are often the victims. This is particularly true in marriage where we are often in a place of emotional and physical reliance on our partners.

It was absolutely not meant to be this way. Women and men both have an important responsibility in this world to bond with each other and not exploit each other, but this is not being realized because of the innate selfishness that mankind has and because men and women do not understand the real purpose behind their coming together.

I have included a couple of links which may help to explain further. I hope they help.

Best Wishes

no, i think you need better examples in your life of mutual, loving relationships that last for life. my parents are both successful in their fields and have been married for 25 years, have never cheated on each other, and plan to stay married until death. i know of plenty of other people who have been married until death (my grandparents being among them).

The fact that there are bad marriages has nothing to do with nature. It has to do with people. Often, in bad marriages, it is the man who is abusive towards his wife. But, there are abusive women as well.

When there are no children, I think anyone who is abused should leave the relationship, whether they provide a good living for themselves or not.

When there are children, it is more complicated. It would take planning to engineer leaving one's abusive spouse because the needs of the children must be a primary consideration.

back in the day it was common for a woman to stay home and take care of the kids and take care of the house and not have to work. Now a days we realize we can bring home the bacon just as much as they can and therefore look for work outside of the household. However, woman who dont have jobs tend to rely on their men and feel that certain type of fear that they cant take of themselves and stay in that relationship in order for someone to take care of them instead of stepping up to the plate. Most woman would take a cheating husband, and be okay because they know that hes still bringing money into the house and keeping her off the streets and fed instead of leaving and having to fend for themselves. I guess it all depends on the type of woman and what they feel is right in their point of view in a relationship.

man. I wish i could just get the money for my own place and i would be gone lol. i dont think whoever wrote the vows thinks a man should beat a woman daily. but also alot of men in the old times saw nothing wrong with slapping "teaching your wife a lesson" its retarted.

i dont know why i stay. i wish i could just leave.

You broke the code. You've figured it out. We men are out to abuse you by marrying you, getting you pregnant, and then keeping you financially dependent while you put up with our "abuse". So, the answer is to never get married. Just get pregnant whenever you want, have nothing to do with the man, and live life on your terms. Then when you get really sick of it all, you can divorce him and take half his...wait, oh poop, you didn't marry him. Surely you can still cash in his 401k, but....you didn't marry him. And he's not paying for junior's college either because legally...you didn't marry him. Arrg! Looks like you've shouldered all the responsibility while the guy went off free as a lark. Gee, that's abusive to you too. There's just no winning with this stuff.
