Drunk boyfriend told me to "f off"?.....?

Yesterday in a group of friends I was talking about how I wanted to learn how to play an instrument. While I was talking I said how I wanted to be great like this one person that play the same instrument. Then out of no where my boyfriend started to say something that I did not understand, and then said "f off". I was pretty mad for the fact this is the second time he said it to me meanly for no reason! It does not bother me if someone jokes around and says "f off", but the way he said it was totally mean. I do not like arguing in front of other people, but I was so mad that I told him how I felt in front of everyone. I do not care if a person is drunk or not I want to be respected (anyways I never heard my boyfriend say meanly "f off" to his friends).I am a person that is really sensitive so when he told me "f off" I had tears in my eyes, and I felt my heart stop beating. I know that if I was the one who said "f off" he would totally feel offended, but he acted like I should not have been offended. Later on when we where alone. I asked him what was his problem? He told me think about it. I tried thinking about it, but I thought of nothing! I told him to tell me because there is no reason to not say it. I do not want to be in a relationship where we can not talk about things openly. I still did not understand what I have done? I do not know what to say. I know how it is like being drunk, but when I get drunk I never say "f off" for no reason. This morning my boyfriend told me that he is sorry, but I can not stop thinking about it! We are a great couple by when something like this happens it makes me so mad! What do you guys think?

P.S I am a not a bad girlfriend. I love giving him his space, and I never force him to do anything!

i think your BF has something inside his mind that is disturbing him regarding your relationship.
a guy can get drunk , loses his control of his activities(movements) but his mind is crystal clear & can think very clearly. so he must ve tried to express his doubt to you.

so the next day he comes & apologises that he was drunk.

try to find it out.

There are those, who when they drink, become excessively affectionate and somewhat humorous. There are those, who when they drink, become mean, stupid, and belligerent. There are those, who when they drink, tell silly jokes and laugh at themselves.

Alcohol affects different people in different ways. If your boyfriend is a "mean" drunk, then there you have it. You either put up with him when he is in that state, or ignore him and stay away from him. The only thing I would suggest you consider is how frequently does he get into this state. Maybe when you questioned him, and he told you to think about what his problem was, he was expressing his dependence on alcohol.

So if he has a problem, you have two choices. Dump him, and move on; or stay with him and try to help him. Trust me, changing your mate is not an easy task, nor is it often appreciated. You might just tell him, the morning after a heavy night, that he needs to decide between you and the bottle. Don't be surprised if you finish in second place, but at least you tried. And I'm guessing this guy is a fool, that you sound like a very loving caring sort.

He has no excuse for his treating you this way in front of others especially friends. Time to reconsider if he has any respect for your relationship and namely you. His future time with you should be in jeopardy and it's likely he will repeat the derogate comments to you again. Stupid and mean things like that seem to be a trend to his personal problem what ever that could be. You should watch him closely and put him on notice that this will not be tolerated ever again....

I've never had a man told me to f-off. You need to set higher standards for yourself. If you continue to accept crap that is what you will get.<>

Respect is the most important part of a relationship IMO.
Talk to him and tell him how much it hurt you, if you don't it will eat you up.

If he says things like this when drunk, don't let him get drunk, he might end up being violent one day after a few drinks. I've worked part time at a centre for domestic violence, and the cases I've worked on usually start off with something like this.
