Ok here is the deal, me and my ex girlfriend moved out last summer, I had too pay the damage deposit, and she paid 1/2 of the pet deposit ($250 out of $500) We had signed a one year lease which expires this july. She had moved out about 3months ago, left me stranded too pay everything and is now harassing me for her half of the pet deposit back and threatning to take me too court in 2weeks if I do not pay it. What my question is, is she allowed too take me to court right now, or will they say she has too wait until the lease is up before she can take legal action? We had made a verbal agreement that it was alright if i paid when the lease is up but her dad doesnt like me too much and is asking for it right now, what should i do?

Go ahead and let her take you to court. Big deal and a waste of her time and money. First of all she broke the lease by moving out. Secondly it will cost her money out of pocket to file in court. Let her and dad blow all the smoke they want. Relax......It will be small claims court and you do not need an attorney. When she finds out the filing fee she will wise up......... |

LOL--she ran out on a lease...let them take you to court -- she will have to pay you rent for the time she was not there to pay the rent...LOL just let them try
That is of course, assuming her name is actually on the leasing agreement |

LOL that girl is crazy ok for one no she has no right to that pet deposit she is the one who split before the lease was up you stayed behind.
Another thing it would cost her more to take you to court than it would the 250 deposit.
Another thing she is just being a *****!
Don't answer her calls or talk to her your wasting your time she is just trying to start ****!
Bottom line is no court system is going to take her side she left before the lease was up that's her problem. |
