Yes, it is absolutely fine. Why should anyone be able to tell two people that love one another what they can and cannot do? It is between the two people involved and no one else--especially the government.
All of you that use religion as the reason, please remember what the Lord said in the BIBLE:
"If any one of you is without sin, let him be the first to cast a stone at her. [John 8:7] Do not judge, lest you too be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. [Matthew 7:1 & 2.] "
Please just let people have free will as as long as it does not harm others (which I cannot see how a gay marriage harms anyone) and let the Lord be the ultimate judge. If I had to bet, I'm sure God would be on the side of Love, whatever the situation.
Why is it that so many people think they can bestow their beliefs on others and have it legislated by our government? Our government was put in place to protect our individual rights--not take them away.
And if your reason a marriage is between a man and a women only is because they can have children then we better not allow marriage between infertile couples, couples who have no interest in having children, Senior Citizens, etc.
When you start to limit rights and freedoms it becomes a slippery slope and soon we all suffer the loss of our God-given liberties. |

i say no
but what can i do to change the way some people believe. Have them be locked up in jail. They will just rebel. I still firmly believe people aren't born gay they develop it however it is who they are so i guess just let them be. Maybe it wont be so popular if people don't make such a big deal about it. Let them get married but don't let them adopt. They cant reproduce so maybe they will all die off (ohh that was mean) |

I feel as if it should be allowed. Because in the bible it says to respect al people. And, I respect anyone who respects me, no matter their past, or present, or future. Their descisions are theirs, not mine. I would gladly accept anyone that is gay. And I also respect their feelings, but do not agree with them. I honestly and personally think gay marriages should be legalized. Everyone deserves ton be happy, right? Why make them miserable because of your closed-mindedness? It should be legal and thats it. Their after-life is between them and God, and their present life should be made as happy as can be and respected. I am full blooded Democratic, because of Bush, eh, screw him, dumb **********. America should be an open-minded, and respectful country and by trying to illegalize gay marriages, makes me disgusted to be American, not ashamed, just disgusted. Happy to be Canadian too. |

Yes!
It is about rights. Partners for life deserve the same protections that straight people get when they marry. To make gay people pay a whole bunch more money for the same rights is unfair.
If a civil union gave the same rights as marriage I'd be for a civil union. But the sad fact is that they give far less rights. That is unfair.
So I'm sorry if some hardline religious people don't like it. We don't tell you what to do in your bedroom. Don't you condescend to deny equal treatment to gays. |

Yes, gay must have the same rights and protection under the institution of marriage. After all, gays are human being like everyone else. They also pay taxes and afraid of growing old. |

i think that whether you believe it is right or wrong shouldn't matter, nobody is forcing you to do it. if you are religious and believe it is a sin then let them make there choices on earth and let them deal with God. i don't think any of us have a right to make that decision for anyone. |

no . marriage is to honor two people and there offspring, every thing else is material, therefore gay etc. should use the legal system for material rights to honor themselves not marriage, to be married is to reproduce life and record our people for future generations and to keep at most marriages safe and healthy . |

Yes. We have never written discrimination into the constitution so why the hell should we start now? Some people don't agree with it from a religious aspect and that's fine. More power to them. But to deny any person the privilege of marrying the one they love is just plain wrong. I don't care what some old book says about it and how the people who read said book interpret it. The fact of the matter is that it's very wrong to not let them marry. |

I live in Canada and it is legal here already. I don't think it is right and many gay people ran out to get married as soon as it was legal.
And now our divorce rate is raising, because the gay community are also getting divorced.
I have lots of gay friends, and i dont think that they would consider it either.
A partner is a husband / wife already when living together. Why the need for a paper to say we are married to each other. |

Yes! i'm not gay but i think that they should legalize it because they are who they are and no one can change that. and for all the people who say "no" because God said to only have men and women married, Think about how God excepts people for who they are, and if they're gay then he would except them for it! so Yes! |

Absolutely. If two people love eachother, they should get married. There is nothing wrong with being gay. Anyone who thinks so should have a shotgun shoved up their *** and the trigger pulled. |
