was just wondering if anyone here got along better or stayed friends with their husband or ex-husband after getting a divorce or seperating? If so, what made you finally decide to split up and how long were you together?

I was married for 8 years to my ex. We get along just fine now. He is still the same guy that he was when i was married to him, but now i don't have to deal with his issues, so we get along now. Ha....
My husband and his ex wife are really good friends. She still has Communication with his family. We even all had lunch before. They have kids together, and it really is the best thing for everyone esp. the kids when everyone can get along....
Just depends on the people. If both people are happier in the new relationships and they can be mature about it then there is no reason for a couple to still be friends and get along. |

We lived together for 5 years. He is a wonderful person, we had our differences though. We were always good friends, and we never had a problem with the friendship part. We always enjoyed each other's company, the romance part died. After we split up we were apart for a little while, and didn't communicate, just the necessities. Then after a few months we found ourselves hanging out just like we did before, two 'buddie'. It's been 10 years now, and we are both happy with someone else, but he is still my best buddy, like my big brother. I am also very close with his family, and non of that changed. I don't think that you can BECOME friends after, you can continue to be friends if you were friends before. |

I have tried but failed. All the good attitude got me was being taken advantage of and lied to. It cost me a house and much more. An ex is just that. It becomes just business. Polite and courteous but no more. |
