The problem is my daughters father doesn't want me to leave. He currently sees her every other weekend, and only gives me 100.00 a month for her expenses. Granted I do not have a job, but what can I do!? Am I being selfish in wanting to leave or what?

No ! You are not being selfish , He is the one that is selfish with his money .. How do he expect that children to survive on 100 dollars a month . You need to get your things and move to Dallas and make a better life for you and your children . If he want to be a part of thier life , then he needs to do better than that ..You know maybe hde might do better that what he is doing now , but you have to show him that it is not all about him .. It is about the children. |

you have to do what is best for your kids. If your life will be better in Dallas, away you go. If he wants to be a part of their lives, he can still visit, or he should pack a bag and find his own place close to dallas. When i moved 4 hours away, my ex moved right behind me-he is a daily fixture in our son's life. That is fatherly love. |

Yes you are being selfish if you are moving more than 100 miles away. Not fair to her or him to just move away so he can spend even less time with her. You should sit down and discuss it as a group. I'm sure you wouldn't like it if he had custody and decided to move away. |

Listen... your baby is with you more than 50% of the time so u definetely have the right to make more than 50% of the decisions. If you think your living and financial situation will be better in another state then go. But also remember its a blessing nowadays to even have fathers in our lives. Im quite sure if your ex had more money to spear he would. He gives you money and takes care of his child, thats a blessing compared to alot of other situations. Good luck!!! |
