I was reading this Gallup poll, and it said that in 1997 9% of the marriages had the woman propose.
But I've never heard of that!
Do you know of any cases where that happened?

I proposed to my SO about a week and a half ago. And I'm not desperate. We had just had a conversation where he mentioned that he was afraid or expectant of me coming to a realization that he isn't what I want. We'd been discussing marriage for the past few months... so I asked him to marry me. I didn't quite get the answer I wanted, but there's more to that than needs to be mentioned here.
Point is-I proposed to him. |

but really, we were barley 20 and today her and I are both glad I didn't say yes.

This was my husband's proposal:
Me: We really need to go ahead and get married now.
My husband: I'd like to pay off my debt first.
Me: I don't care about your debt, lets just get married.
My husband: I guess we should go look at rings then.
At that point, we left Taco Bell and went to the mall to get our wedding rings. I am NOT lying about this at ALL. He did give me an engagement ring a month or two later, but this was the "proposal" I will always remember. I guess I was the one who 'asked' and hey, we were really young. |

Yes. My in-laws have a huge deck around their house. When my mother-in-law mentioned that they were going to build a gazebo in one corner, my wife (then my girlfriend) said "Great. We'll get married there!" That was the first time she'd ever mentioned marriage (though we were living together nearly a year by then). It took them a while to finish that gazebo, but that's where we got married. No proposal, just "we're getting married!". Worked for me. |
