I decided to send her a text explaining what happened, but then her boyfriend calls me and starts threatening me that he's going to beat my boyfriend's a$s and all this stuff and I told him I have no idea where he's coming from because I don't have a boyfriend.
Me and this girl were friend for 12 years until this guy came around in December 2008. He beat her up twice, stole money and personal belongings out of her parents' home. She forgave him and moved him into an apartment with her and her 3 kids that she has with her husband!
I alerted her parents to this on their voicemail and said I'll call the police if this girl or her ex-con drug addict boyfriend show up at my place. We're all 21 y/o. Did I handle this right?

I believe you did the right thing and all you can do is sit back and wait. You told the family so lets hope they can get her to come around. Sometimes no matter what, it wont matter wh you tell. It has to be up to her to leave, when she finally says ok enough is enough. The fact that she's involving the kids is another thing. Soon he will start hitting them if he hasn't are ready.Then you should step in further and report the situation to authorities. Kids should never be in that kind of environment. What kids wants to watch there parent get hurt. Anyways I wish the best out come for your friend. Just remember you did the right thing. |

Obviously she is an adult and competent to make decisions. Seems like they are bad ones but, nonetheless, they are hers to make. If I were you the only thing you should be concerned about is your life. If she doesn't care about hers, or yours, get away. |

I think you did the best thing you could as a friend and someone who cares about her. Now you have to stay out of her life and hope that she will see that this is not healthy for her and her children. The more you stay in it though and try to change her mind, the tighter she is going to cling to him. Give her space there is really nothing you can do. And please watch your back and be safe. |
