Help me decipher his actions., what does this stuff mean?

I am interested in an older guy who's never been married. Anyways, here are some things he does. What do they mean cuz I am clueless.
1. When we talk in public he seems to walk me to my car like its normal, he never says he is doing it just follows me there.
2. When he talks to me in person he usually has his hands in his pockets and turns towards me or gets closer to talk.
3. I was talkin about how someone had said I was gorgeous and when I said they he smiled and blushed bright red.
4. He tells me his personal life, chit chats about small talk, and asks about my day or other things.
He seems shy and sometimes we don't talk for a day or something.
What do these things mean? Once at a party I was there and he was in the other room. I accidentally walked into the room he was in and he saw me and came into the room I was in. He never returned to that other room and talked to me alot more than the others.
Additional Details
My friend shook his hand but he didn't go to do that one time.
