I recently joined a gym. I work night shift as a nurse, so I have been heading to the gym early in the mornings around 8 am. The gym is usually pretty dead around this time. However, sometimes I go before work, in the evening, and I must admit that there are some really annoying men. During the evening the gym is practically like a singles club for people to meet up. Most men will listen to a thanks but no thanks, but some of these guys are annoying "meat head" types who just won't back off, no matter how much I tell them I'm married! I told my husband how frustrating it is, that it makes me not want to go in the evenings, and he laughed! He said I shouldn't tell them I'm married, because guys like this don't care. I should tell them my wedding ring is really a purity ring and I'm abstinent! He said that will get them to leave me alone much better than saying I'm married. Guys out there, do you agree? Any truth to this? I'm thinking he might just be onto something here.

Why don't you use the base gym I'm sure at 8 or 9 in the morning everyone is done with PT and getting ready or already reporting to duty
Shouldn't be a problem there except a bunch of old retires |

Its just guys in the gym
They are hitting on you because they can, to show off to other guys, etc.
They arent really serious. They would if you let them, but they arent at all expecting it.
They are basically teasing you because your good looking and it amuses them.
I wouldn't worry about it. |

I so agree with your husband!!!! When I was married I actually would tell men that I was a church going girl, who only wanted men who would wait for me until we were married, and it worked! Those types of men only want one thing and once they know you aren't giving it to them (or anyone else, including your husband) they back off. Kudos for your husband for being smart, I thought only women knew this little game, lol. |
