Horrible neck pain? please help?

It's not the swine flu, and it isn't lyme disease. Put a hot comress on your neck and bend your neck the opposite way from the way that makes it hurt. While applying the compress slowly tuck your shoulders upwards ( tucking your head inwards ) and sustain it ( only if it brings you relief and not pain )

And take tylenol as directed.
And don't crack your neck at all until you feel better ( try not to do it at all IMHO )

Take a hot shower as well if the compress made you feel better and make sure the water hits your neck...

If the compress didn't help, try switching to a cold compress and do all the same actions.

I hurt my back recently in much the same way, and it took days for it to go away completely, but if you don't notice relief within hours I would go to a doctor ( a real doctor not a chiropractor )

Try massaging it while taking a hot shower, it may take a day or two to get back to normal. Any longer and you should see a chiropractor.

Make sure you computer monitor is at eye level. If you are looking down slightly, this will cause it believe it or not.

Well, i know one of the symptoms for swine flew is Muscle pain.
Tonight, Try sleeping with you facing to the cieling, and try not to move around alot, and if it still hurts then i suggest you go to the doctor.

you over worry its nothing just a regular neck ache. Put some icy hot should help heal it faster or bengay.

The neck ache happens once in a while, and it does have to do with sleeping badly, but shockingly stress can do this too. Give it a day or two to heal, trust me, once you wake up, it'll feel better. try to relax a bit, my brother had the same thing like you, and it felt better after sleep. just dont sleep on that side.

swine flu isnt that bad MOST of the time but it can lead to death. i live by st francis prep, which was just closed because 8 people had it :( coughing, sneezing, sore throat, and BODY ACHES!

maybe your neck problem can be a result of the swine flu, so you could possibly have it! go to the doctor to get checked right away, just to see if you have it or not. if you feel better in the morning, you dont have it.

Its a pulled muscle. Take some muscle relaxer or pain killers it will go away.

its probably because you slept on your neck for the whole night, it happened to me before. it is annoying and stiff but i doubt it is that flu
maybe even because you fell of the bed at one point lol

I have the same issues- I found these really help.
Sleep without a pillow tonight, with your head in a totally natural position.
Try and rub some oil (if you don't have anything like massage oil, use olive oil) on your neck and shoulders. This really helps me. (It sounds crazy, but no lie!)
I wouldn't be too concerned about this. Just try and keep your neck in a natural position, and it should be better. Hope I helped! :)

probably you slept wrong or strained your neck. if you have a fever see the doctor, if you don't it's not the swine flu. Also, your chances of haing the swine flu are about 1 in 10 million if you live in North America.

it could be that your neck is extremely sore. Or you could have a sickness called "cervical edinitus" (not sure of spelling). I had the exact same thing. If your neck is constantly slanted to one side, then you most likely have cervical edinitus. that sickness is caused from germ build up. (e.i putting your lips on a used water bottle or putting your lips on a drinking fountain.) I don;t know the effects of swine flu either, but i highly reccomend getting it checked out first thing tommorow if it still hurts.
