How can I make my husband believe I love him?

It's great that you are so in tune with what is going on with your husband! First, try to keep in the mind and heart that his having trouble accepting love is not your fault and is not because you are doing anything wrong. That said, there are ways that you "love" (a verb) your husband that will speak louder and clearer to him than other ways. Discover what those ways are and poor it on! For instance, if abandonment is an issue for him, make sure you keep him informed on where you will be or call him and let him know if you are running a little late...some would say that is letting him control you or keep tabs on you, but if abandonment is indeed an issue, something as simple as you running late could be a trigger for his insecurities.

Consider reading the book "The Five Love Languages". It is very helpful in helping to understand how and why people accept love differently.

You keep doing what you are doing. His issue isn't with you or the children its with his past. All of this love would be much easier to recieve if he hadn't had such a troubled past. He needs to seek help to resolve these issues. Continue to support him let him witness what real love really is.

I think he doesn't see himself as being worth the love he receives.Telling him isn't enough.Show and tell him how he is worth the love you and the kids give him everyday until the doubt in his eyes goes away.Remind him of all the special things he does and says that make you feel good.He has to be told what good person,husband and father he is constantly.

Your husband need to go to counseling to understand how his abusive childhood has impacted his life. Until he gets that, he will always have doubts and not feel worthy of being loved. You and your children can't change his perspective, he needs professional help.

He needs to help himself. I had a similar childhood and with professional help I am so much happier than I ever was. My marriage, friendships and life are fulfilling and prosperous.

You can't "fix" him. You can stand by him and continue to do the things you are doing. It ultimately is up to him.

Just keep doing what you are doing, sounds like he has taken notice and is appreciating it very much, these things take time but he will learn to let ya'll in fully over time and give as much back too. Sounds like ya'll love and trust eachother very much, just keep it up and best of luck to ya'll, its a great thing he has love in his life now instead of the abuse, stop the cycle right here.

A lot of people were abused as children and they don't carry such emotions to their adult lives. He needs help. You can't make him believe anything if he is emotionally unable to accept it. Try talking to a therapist and ask your husband if he truly wants to be able to live a normal life.. He doesn't want help it won't work. He has to accept it.

The Abused child has usually suffered more Physical trauma causing Mental trauma. A warm hug or a loving kiss a day, usually heals the Mental trauma suffered because of Physical abuse. A caressing feel is all needed to heal those wounds!
