I called my wife lazy and selfish when she was pregnant because she wasn't acting,and she is still holding it against me.It was months ago and she won't let it go.How do I tell her to get over it?

Instead of trying to get your wife to get over it, why not pick a nice moment where you try to engage her in a real conversation about it. Really a good sit down and allow her to express her feelings, thoughts and emotions. You hurt her dearly and you cannot just try to get her to get over it. You need to take responsibility for the pain and anguish you caused her. You need to explain why you said these things and hopefully didn't really mean them. You need to apologize for being so callous and nasty to her. Until you show true remorse and have a heart to heart... forgiveness will be a goal that will not come. |

Maybe you should try apologizing instead of brushing her off. After that, compliment her on practically anything she does. Did she dress your child before you got home from work? Tell her you like the outfit. Did she clean? Tell her the place looks nice and kiss her on the cheek. If you notice the little things she does, she'll be more appreciative of you and will forgive that hurtful remark from before. |
