How do i get over an irrational infatuation with a man?

I made out with an older married man a few times. It was stupid and i regret it, but he just has some hold over me where i made out with him anyway. The thing is i think about him ALL the time, and it is so annoying. I have decided not to contact him again because there is no point wasting my time on this man. It is weird because i enjoyed spending time with him and making out with him, but wouldn't want to actually be with him. So why am i infatuated with someone i know i could never be with or want to for that matter? He has qualities that i admire, like his looks, job, humor, but i know the reality of him is not good. I just want to know why i am so infatuated with someone i wouldn't even want and how i get over it? How do i get over this silly little fantasy, i've had enough, it is not healthy!!

just look at the rational side of it, the facts, the reality, the consequences, and u really don't know the man and if u did know him well u probably wouldn't want him.

thats just what he is! a fantasy!! Just like.. sleeping with your hott boss.. or the hott teacher. doctor, blah blah blah.. your fantasy is being the other women.. You just need to realize this for what it is.. Keep your eye on the person you want to be. and aim to be that better person. and after awhile of no contact with him.. you will get over it.. but you will always have fond memories. lol

Unfortunately we just aren't in control of our emotions - esp, where the heart is concerned. Stopping contact is best but also do not allow your thoughts on him to continue - it is hard but replace them with other thoughts. Find something constructive to do, keep busy. Music and prayer can help as well. Time will heal you, I promise :)

If your a young person it may be the attention that appeals to you. If he's forbidden fruit as in a married man,you may feel like you won the prize.But,what's really important is that you decide whether you want him,& if he's available to you.Either walk away Or have a relationship with hi,but do make a decision so that you are free of his hold on you.

When someone, no matter the age, comes along at the right time, says the right things, and makes us feel good when we have been down, it's easy to become infatuated with them. Who wouldn't want to be made to feel better? The thing is you don't really know what his intentions were, do you? That is one of the slickest ways to a gals heart to do those things and catch her off guard and then have to have his way with you and then leave you. You may have been lucky to have it stopped right there. But that is what is nice about someone who infatuates you, you have the memory of it and it makes for a nice thing to look back on. So enjoy the memory, sometimes we don't get enough of them.
