How do i help my husband with his depression?

My husband is really depressed. I feel awful because I spent the last two weeks nagging at him thinking he was just controlling me and being lazy because all he would want to do is sit on the couch and watch tv and he's been ignoring our son and I.

He has EVERY single symptom on the male side of the chart. And he usually isn't like this.

The problem is, my husband is a stubborn man. There is no putting my foot down with him. I can't force him to get help, and he won't tell me if he's depressed. (Pride.)

So I'm not going to force him to do anything he doesn't want to, I just want to know.. what do I do to make him happy again? (I think the problem lies with his job and the fact I was nagging..)

you're right about the nagging. just back off of him for awhile. give him space and time to himself, when he's at home. he's obviously stressed out and needs time to relax. just do extra special things around the house for him and tell him how much you and your son love and care about him, even if you think he knows, it's good for him to hear. tell him how much you appreciate how hard he works. best of luck.

One of the leading causes of depression is a total lack of exercise. The body needs exercise to help it move the wastes through it and get fresh nutrients to the cells. Without it everything backs up and the cells don't react normal and it finally affects the brain. Get him out to walk, run if possible or swim is good too. In a week you would see a new man. Also gethim to drink a lot of water and to cut down on his sugar intake, pop and candy. Substitute fresh fruit for the sugar need.

So basically he should not feel like
I hv probs in office which i cant prevent much
and if i need support at home.....my wife screws me up...
so thats what leads to depressions...

and do things together with him...like bring in more love and a lil more romance cause Love can do anything !!!
