How do you deal with a divorced woman?

I am currently going with a woman that i am very much in love with she has a child and that not the problem. The problem is it seems as if she defends the dad all the time. After she describes all the things he has done and not done with the child. Even if we dont speak of the father in front of the child this just seems wierd to me but i dont want to break up with her cuase i am in love but not sure if i can deal with this. This bothers me

Maybe she wants you to accept that that man was part of her life, is the father of her child, so denigrating him would hurt her by hurting her choices. She only wants you to accept her past. |

Never, and I mean never, talk about the kids Dad...other than that you should be fine. If she brings it up, just say "yes dear"... |

Firstly, she is entitled to vent and if she spends a lot of time with you, she will vent to you.
She would not be defending her ex (divorced or not) if she did not feel like you were attacking him i.e. speaking badly about him.
Even though he is her ex and he might have done or is doing bad things to her, you should just listen to her, be there for her, but do not get involved in the relationship that has to exist between them for the sake of the child. So refrain from forcing her to defend him, afterall he is the father of her child. |
