How do you receive child support from someone if you have no idea where they are?

That's surprising that the state would say that and turn you away, it shouldn't matter how much you make, he still has to pay child support! The above answerer could be correct in that they should be able to find him through taxes; however, my idea was they should be able to find him through his SS#, but if he isn't working or is working under the table, it may be difficult to find him using either of those! Do you know any of his family or friends, you may have to do some of your own investigating and call those people; if they won't talk to you, have someone else call, most people (family/friends) should be willing to help you find him when you have a legitimate reason to find him, as you do! Good luck! I hope it all works out for the best for you and your children!

Also, maybe you should try your local law offices...if you can't afford to hire an attorney, there are some who work pro bono for the state, wouldn't hurt looking into it!

Last, but not least, even if you do find him, it still doesn't mean he will pay up! My ex pays very sporadically and I do have the state help with child support enforcement and it is like pulling teeth to get them to do ANYTHING when he is late! They sometimes will call him and ask him to pay, but they tend to give him the benefit of the doubt, and aren't willing to do much unless it goes past three months, which they would then file a motion and they might take his driver's license away...which leads me to one more possible way to find him...see if you can find him by his driver's license!

You need to go to child support enforcement, they can run his ssn and your credit report will show where you work and where you last worked. If he has no job then there would be nothing that you can do, except hope he gets his act together and owns up to his responsibity. If he finally gets a job and files taxes you will get that money also.

Not much to be honest. If it is court ordered he will still pay in the end. I know this doesn't help you, but I doubt he will be able to run for the rest of his life. Even if the children turn 18 and leave home, he still has to pay the backpayments to you plus all the arrears he will owe, which will then probably be more then the actual child support owed. Once he gets a job that he pays taxes with, they will garnish his wages. I know it doesn't get the bills paid. . .

Most states now will find him through his taxes. When he files them his social security number comes up and if he is so far behind they will seize his tax refund and give it to you. They only think they can hide. Eventually they are found. Good luck to you and your children.

Have him arrested.

Just let the police find him and move on with your life.

Don't let him ruin your life with this drama.

I recommend finding help from your family members so you can go to school and make money.
