i am going to file divorce at court i know i have to wait 60 days per tx court laws, the issue is i am in iraq i am going to do this on r&r but i need to wait till i get back from iraq to finalize everything. how long can i wait before the court throws out the divorce or what ever it is that they do after nothing happens with it for a long time i have about 6 to 7 month wait after i file. is this to long?

Well you just need to explain your situation to either your lawyer or the judge and they will make special arrangements for you.. |

You can (and probably should) write out a LIMITED power of attorney for a sister or brother to do this for you, after you re-deploy.

lori is right. You can put a temporary stay on the divorce. And after a number of days the divorce process goes into default and may be granted without any action. You can check the link below for more articles regarding military divorce. You might find some useful information. |
