I'm not sure it matters if you date 2 years or 5-- (no less than 2 though so you can be sure you see the good, the bad and the ugly). The biggest thing with marriage is growing together and moving toward the same goals. If you don't have those in common from the get go, then you are probably doomed regardless of how nice you both are. My current boyfriend of 2 1/2 years and I are very happy and I think he is definitely "it." This time around, I'm just making sure we are heading in the same direction in life so we can see it through til' death do us part. :)
