Wedding night for me. I should have decided to marry his younger brother instead, after we had an unexpected chance encounter a few weeks before the wedding. It would have made things a whole heck of a lot easier, rather than all this sneaking about for the last year.

First marriage...a probably 3 or 4 yrs into it...we split up at 7-1/2 yrs...he was an alcoholic, spendaholic, and cheated on me repeatedly...I was 19 when we married (far too young and foolish)...
Second marriage...during the ceremony...one little voice kept screaming "stop! don't do it!" in my head, and the other said "shutup, it'll be okay...shutup, it'll be okay"...we split up after 17 months...
I've remained unmarried in the decade-ish since then... |

I didn't realize it during my first marriage till 2 years into it. I was young. I was arrogant and stupid. I thought I could help him. I didn't realize we were both too broken in similar ways to help each other do anything, let alone make a marriage work.
Still, I'm glad it happened otherwise I wouldn't have met, lusted after, and sacked my rebound. Who, against all odds (of a rebound relationship lasting), has been my husband for almost 9 years. |
