How many states will legalize gay marriage?

Gay marriage is an oxymoron... Stop changing the true definition of marriage. Sickening. I dont think ANY state should legalize "gay" marriage. Keep them "domestic partner" and call it a life. I will pray for them.

I think all the states, including mine here in Texas, will one day have legal gay marriage. There are laws that forbid gay marriage right now, but they will be overturned, and new laws will come once people warm up to it enough.

The first step is to push the church back into their churches, and get them out of government. So many of these religious folks assume all have to be religious, and all follow the Bible per say, or should on how they interpret it, from the people who converted from several languages before ultimately being translated into English.

That being said, there should be marriage outside the church, and not have any religion to them. If a couple wants to get hitched without a single word about God, it should be. It should also include gay marriage. If this bothers religious people, they should keep their marriage in their churches, and stop trying to cram their beliefs on others, particularly on non-believers.

We as Americans need to learn about tolerance, and acceptance. I think all these right-wing Christians would be upset if we as a country tried to stop them from getting married because they were Christians. Then they would be calling the ACLU...

Some states (like mine, Texas) have passed specific legislation NOT to recognize gay marriage, even those performed legally in other states. Broadminded.

I think that a few more states will legalize it, or their Supreme Courts will uphold it. Eventually, though, I think the US Supreme Court will uphold it under the Equal Protection clause of the Constitution, federally.

EDIT: I wish the uneducated people who think our country was founded on Christian principles would learn a little history. Thomas Jefferson, George Washington and many other of the founding fathers weren't Christians at all. This is not a Christian country, it just isn't. It might be full of Christians, but it wasn't established by Christians.

I WISH NONE of them would...GOD is going to destroy this nation just like he did Sodom and Gomorrah because of this kind of corruption...Where have our Christian principles gone that this country was founded on????

Its illegal in CA for now, but if you recall it wasn't too long ago when it was legal here... it goes back and forth.

And actually for those couples that were married when it was 'legal' their marriage is still upheld throug the law, because they were married legally at the time. Its just right now there cannot be any new marriages... so yes, the marriage is still legitimate if it was done legally in any state and at any time. Just because the law was reversed doesn't mean all the marriages done legally at the time are null and void... they are still legally married everywhere they go in the U.S.
