How much does pregnancy mess up your figure? What have you seen or had happen to you?

Yes, having a baby can ruin your body, but not always!

I have seen woman who bounce back and look great! I have seen women who looked really bad, and never got it back.

It just depends. Do you have sisters? How did they hold up?

That seems pretty shallow to me. You'd try to adopt (good luck with that), to avoid ruining your figure? Then what do you do about middle age? It damages your figure as well?

there is no mess up in figure when pregrency of after delivery... it requires only normal walking and exercies and your daily work...can bring you good figure..i have experienced still a fit figure after my two childrens...when you ask me personally 92% of men will like to have their own babies...

It all depends on you. If you eat properly and gain a normal amount of weight, everything will return to normal quickly.

I've had three children, gained about 25 lbs each time, and been back in prepregnancy condition within 6 wks.

There are women who gain 60 lbs and spend the rest of their lives as whales, bemoaning the baby weight. That's a choice. It also carries significant health risks during the pregnany.

It's all up to you. Pregnancy isn't a free pass to eat the worst you've ever eaten in your life.

pregnancy is a beautiful thing, body issues should be the last of your worries.

my mom has had 2 children and she looks okay she can never be back to what she was like before but she doesnt mind.

and saying you would prefer to adopt then to lose some of your figure then its a bit shallow, after all pregnancy is the most important thing to a woman, not her figure!

most men prefer to have their own blood child, its just natural, adopting should only be for someone who cannot conceive ect.

pregnancy doesnt " mess up " your figure, it changes it.

WOW. I thought I was shallow. So you go to the adoption agency and they ask you why you want to adopt. Your reply is, because I don't want to mess up my figure. Yeah they are going to say cool adopt 5 kids.

It depends on the man you marry if he wants biological children or adopted. As for your body figure. There are a lot of ways you can keep fit while carrying, for example, having a healthy balanced diet, light/swimming exercises, walking. Finding the right cream to stop stretch marks from day one this should be applied throughout your entire pregnancy. Its all entirely up to you whether you look after your body while pregnant.

Sounds kind of selfish to me. If you want a baby you should not be worry about your figure. (but of course you can always get back in shape with exercise)

Ok, you want to adopt a baby because you do not want to mess up your figure? Good luck with explaining to the adoption agency why you wish to adopt.

I feel like if you are that self centered and shallow, then you need to re-think ever becoming a mother. Because being a mother takes sacrifices and YOU are no longer most important. Your child and its needs come way before yours. So if you ever become pregnant, your figure is going to be the LEAST of your concerns..

i had a son so what i have some stretch marks. and i still have a small pudge it wont go away cause i carried so low i need a tummy tuck. i am proud of it. who cares. i know a lot of women who had kids and they still look great all you have to do is get off your lazy butt and exercise after you have a baby. you are too vain. a child is the most Precious gift you can receive .

I was skinny and fit prior to having a baby.....and afterwards....I was still skinny...but needed to work a little on my fitness...good luck : )

Hi,
Mother of 5 here,I love my babies.While you worry about your body and how it will change,everyone is different.I got stretch marks with the first one that I could lay my middle finger into,they actually bled.I gained 88 pounds mostly extra fluid and toxemia.But after that it didn't matter I knew there was no more damage that could be done.I now have 5 and would not trade them for anything else on the world.My body wasn't perfect in the first place.No one is perfect.
