my fiance and i are getting married and he's leaving to go to iraq next week. and i'm curious how much more money he'd make.

I am an Army spouse who is also an Army Vet. Military men and women do not make crap for money. When I was in the Army my base pay was $21,600 a year...my husband is currently an E6 and his base pay is around $32,400. So you see, it's not like we're big pimpin or anything. When deployed the soldiers receive combat pay, which is like $1000 extra bucks a month if I am not mistaken. |

typical; all a woman cares about is the money...... you proved that point by asking how much more he'd make being married and deployed. instead of asking how much more he'll make once married; why don't you get a job and support yourself, or are you also the type that feels it's the place of the husband to support the wife (meaning she gets to sit around and do nothing while he earns the paycheck) |

I don't think you should get married if this is your biggest concern.
As far as how much, it depends on rank and years of service... but they do have charts for that for base pay. Google army pay chart 2009.
EDIT: I did answer it seriously... google it. I had to for an AF one when we were looking at buying a house to show how much more my husband would make with BAH included in his base pay along with my pay. |
