So my fiance does not drink, I however got a bit of a drinking problem. I usually don't drink, but when I do its hard to stop. So last night my golf league got cancelled and I stuck around to have a beer and it turned into an all nighter, she was pretty mad. She's gonna get home and say "What happened?" she always says that like I have an excuse. Anyway, I don't really want to fight with her, how can I get it over with quickly? I love her more than words can express, I just messed up and made a bad decision to drink instead of go home.

I see that you understand that you have a weakness re drinking.To understand this point-it's already half way to fight with your problem. How about if you say it to yourself that tonight you are not going to drink at all. Give this word to yourself-and do not make any excuses.Try to substitute your evening with something else. For example-go for a walk with your girlfriend, gim, yoga, do whatever you like to do except drinking. Tomorrow do it again.Say it to yourself-that tomorrow you are not going to drink, then after tomorrow.If you wouldn't be able to do that-if you come up with the next excuse-ask doctors help and I don't mean to offend you. Or perhaps hypnosis. Alcohol stays in your blood for 3 days. Withdrawals are guaranteed. After 3 days it would be only in your head.Believe in yourself that you can do it, that you are stronger than alcohol.Remember, if you value your girlfriend and you will continue drinking-she will not put up with this and might leave you, because of your problem.I don't think you want to loose her, so try to loose your bad habit. Everybody needs time to do there own thing but shes gonna get sick of it, and you may not like it that shes giving you an ear full now but how are you gonna feel when she stops caring? Whats more important to you? I am all about a guys/ girls night out 1 time a week or month what ever works. |
