Husband and female friend?
Find answers to your legal question.

Husband and female friend?

My husband has a female friend that he's known since before we got together. Something about him being close with this girl annoys me. They message regularly over Facebook. She's tried convincing him to break up with me (which I didn't find out about until months later), and she's messaged him asking if he still thinks about the time that they kissed (he kissed her before we got together).
He has a picture of her up on his bulletin board, and I just get this irky feeling like he needs her in some way, and I don't like that. He says that she will always be in his life as a friend. I just don't want her around, period.

Are my feelings wrong? What should I do, or say?

Why do you ask a question like you are a man then turn around and ask the same question but now you imply you are a woman.

No you have a valid reason to feel that way. He should distance himself from her, especially since she tried to break the two of you up. And the pic? give me a break. I would tell him he needs to reduce the time that they associaye with each other and spend more time with you.

I have my own isses with my marriage but here's my take. Marriage is extremely difficult without distractions so there is no easy answer especially when there is one. Here's my take. Act like the girlfriend but cook like the wife. This may sound chauvanistic but it'll work for me. : ) Make his favorite dish (if you have no idea what it is or how to make it, you've probably answered the question as to why he keeps her close because she probably knows). If you work, then cook once or twice a week but focus on his favorites. YOU MUST cook on days when you think he is going to go out with his "friend". DO NOT just cook either and set yourself up for a letdown if he doesn't come home. YOU HAVE TO TELL HIM in the middle of the day, call or text him that you're getting the ingredients for his favorite dish before he makes plans. It's one small way of "spoiling him. He'll appreciate it and think twice if there is a big fast porterhouse with his name on it at home. Hopefully my wife reads this. Telling a wife to cook is not the way to go.lol Anyway, I agree that it's hard to spoil a guy while being resentful but give it a shot. If that helps, find out what his other favorites are by asking and give him something to look forward to when coming home to you. In the end hopefully he'll be looking forward to see you. As for the friend, trying to take her out of the picture will be nearly impossible due to facebook etc so don't focus on that. You should focus on him. That's what she is doing.

If you've already done the above, then you should get your own "friend" or dump the guy and focus on someone else that would appreciate it.

No, you have every right to be upset by this. First you need to communicate your feelings to him and let him know it makes you uncomfortable that she flirts with him and he does nothing about it.

Then he needs to tell his friend that she shouldnt talk that way to him because it's not appropriate. If she continues anyway, then he needs to make a decision... you or her. I'm not sure how serious you two are, but if he loves you he would not continue to willingly hurt you. I hope he comes around or that you find a guy that gives you the love and respect you deserve.

Hell no! He's your husband and he should respect the way you feel about having this "friend". Especially if she has tried to brake both of you up in the beginning and continues to try to get him to reminisce about some kiss they had. My husband had a best friend from school who is a female. I had a problem with it in the beginning but when I meet her and got to know her better I knew that her and my husband were just friends. Now she is a dear friend of mine and we are still close after 11 years. My husband thinks of her as a sister. But with your situation, I would be concerned cuz it just seems like she wants to get at you man. Why don't you try maybe confronting her? Tell her how you feel. GOOD LUCK!

Your feelings are absolutely correct. You need to stop being a nice 'guy' and stand up for your rights. Give him an ultimatum, either you or that bimbo. Prior to that, collect enough evidence of their 'friendship' Tell him he has to break all contact with her immediately. No calls, no texts, no face book, no cute remarks, nothing. If he does not see it your way then do some research and find a real shark of a divorce lawyer and take everything your husband has. Invert his *** hole. That will teach him a lesson. He won't have two nickels to rub together but he will have his bimbo.

I don't think that your feelings are wrong. It has taking me a long time to realize that friends are just friends and you can be friends with your ex. However I don't think they should be having conversations about what they are. I feel that those are inappropriate conversations. Your best bet would be to sit down and let your husband know how you feel. Try not to be accusing with your words though that will just make him mad and won't solve anything.

Just like the woman who asked an almost identical question about his wife. You are totally justified. He should not talk to her or associate with her anymore. Because she threatened your marriage by asking him to break up with you. That's it. No more contact.

I agree with everyone saying that he needs to cut his ties with this "friend."

It's obvious that she wants more than a friendship. Your husband either enjoys the attention that he is receiving, in which case you need to examine whats missing in your relationship with him to make him need to communicate with this "friend" everyday.

Or, he is unaware of the POWER of a Woman who wants and needs someone no matter who she has to hurt to get, in this case, your husband. Because some men don't have the intuition that us women have and they think that they "can handle it" sometimes telling him that you want him to end communication will only result in him calling you insecure.

Soo, if thats the case give him a piece of his own pie and get an internet buddy for yourself. Keep it as friends, but communicate everyday and let him know that you have friends too. Good Luck

Either create a situation that will cause him to be jealous about your possible liaison with someone else, or learn to deal with the situation and broaden your own horizons.
