Husband plays computer games 4-8 hours a day when he is deploying in a matter of days.?

He makes me so angry. We're both in the national guard. Last week he volunteered to deploy without asking or telling me (I found out from his friend). Other than the anger I have bottled up from that, he has been playing World of Warcraft and Counterstrike 4-8 hours a day until midnight usually.

He deploys this week and spends his time on the computer. What do I do? I can't let him know how angry I am about everything, because he's leaving.

I've never been in therapy before, but I have an appointment for tomorrow, because I feel like I need to talk to someone about everything I have bottled up.
Additional Details
Well, I said something about the deployment and the gaming. He knows how I feel to an extent. He just doesn't know how angry all this actually makes me. At times I want to just strangle him! (in my mind)

but you my dear are really over reacting
the fact that he's playing video games before he deploys isn't anything to be angry about
the fact that he didnt tell you he decided to volunteer is however
so tell him you're upset because he didn't tell you

you need to tell him this is pissing you off, because i can garauntee you you're not going to want him to go over there without him knowing how you feel. itll drive you nuts the entire time. i have experience in this feel. however don't be too harsh, like dnot tell him you actually wanted to strangle him lol but tell him you're upset. maybe he didnt telll you because he didnt want you to worry. thats the reason why my hubby to be wasnt going to tell me, until i told him it pissed me off and hurt me that he wouldnt tell me. he promised he would if iwould promise not to watch the news. altho the thought of him not wanting me to worry was sweet, it hurt and ticked me off so maybe thats what hes thinking

You need to just flat out tell him how you feel. My husband just deployed to South Korea on the 14th and before he left he was constantly playing video games, all day until 2-3 in the morning! I sat him down and told him I'd like more time with him before he left and he realized that he needed it to since he didn't know when he'd see me again. Thank god I get to go over with him, but I'm still glad I told him just in case. Explain to him that you're angry that he didn't tell you he was going to volunteer or that he did and that you need time with him before he leaves, he should understand and if he doesn't then you might want to evaluate your relationship with him.

if he was just playing games i would say he may be nervous about going, but the lack of communacation is not cool sorry i couldnt be more help. good luck

Any thought to maybe he's nervous about being deployed...I mean obviously there are alot of unknowns there. A. how will it be...being away from you and the family. B. how will it be THERE. Dangerous? Extreme working conditions?

It's alot to think about...and maybe, he's using the game as an escape.

I can't think of any other reason...unless he simply doesn't "get it"...which is possible....He is a Man, afterall!

You can't tell him how you feel? Well, there you go. You are going to have to deal with this for years to come if he thinks this is okay behavior. Speak up!!!!
