I'm engaged to a man who's one year younger?
Find answers to your legal question.

I'm engaged to a man who's one year younger?

I'm 21 he's 20 and it's not a lot but it's not really normal that the man is younger. He looks older than me but it bothers me because women usually mature faster than men and the man is older. We're getting married this summer, but it bothers me what do I do?

Is the love equal between both of you guys? Are you so worried what people think?

Men will always be boys, but when they do love you.. they will look up to you.

You are only 21... there are so many men, so little time to settle down and be pregnant and be buried. Explore the world, earn a good money, and enjoy it. travel, and have fun!!

Yah! You're back! I think that since you just can't get beyond asking this same question over and over - YOU SHOULD BREAK UP. There - problem solved.

KJ
judging by your question, you ain't mature enough to get married.

you obviously have no idea what love is
so you obviously shouldnt be getting married

if you love him, youd accept everything about him including the age difference

If this is the big problem in you life then you don't need to get married, it only gets harder.

E
You should never get married when having doubts. Break up with him if the age thing is bothering you that much.

If you really love him, then age doesn't matter. There are plenty of women who marry younger guys, there was a couple with the woman being 33 and the guy being 23 and they were living happily. So stop your whining, if you really love him, then it wouldn't matter.

Don't get married your too young, and if you have to ask this then you have no business getting hitched. Go to college

What IS normal and by what/whose standard do you measure it? I can't count the number of times I've heard women complain about being the older person in a relationship. Where is it written or what law is there that says the man has to be older than the woman? It's nothing more than a stigma that was attached from centuries past when 25-50 year-old men married 13 year-old girls.

I am 9 years older than my husband, it has NEVER been an issue because he knows my age, I know his, and it's nobody else's business. Our families know and have always had the good sense not to make it a problem for themselves. We don't handle our marriage based on the older person being superior/inferior to the other and have never even discussed the age difference. If you are already stuck on something as silly as an age difference, what will you do when you face a REAL problem in your marriage? In 25 years you won't look like an old phart married to your grandson.

I have been married to my husband for 34 years and don't look any older than he does. He is proud to be seen with me and introduce me as his wife; I feel the same way about him.

You need to get past the age difference or do your boyfriend a favor and call off the wedding because you clearly must settle your issue over only one year. You should stop talking about it and stop thinking about it or your marriage will go nowhere fast.

It hardly matters my ex was 2 years younger, looked older of course, but we were married for a long time & as you get older the time difference means even less.
I know married people who are very happy & there are huge age gaps between them, both older men & older women, if this worries you, it is silly, because age is nothing, it's the person that counts.

don't worry sounds like maturity levels wont be an issue come back with a good question

Personally I think you are BOTH TOO YOUNG to be getting married.

Your age difference is nothing.

I have the same situation, but I got over it. It sounds like you are a little stuck on what others will think. That is the root problem. I would work on this problem, so that you don't bring it into the marriage. If you don't, you'll be comparing other aspects of your relationship to other people's relationships, which can cause alot of damage.

If you continue to think like this your marriage is doomed before it even starts. This is all in your head.

My husband is 9 months younger than me, most people think he is 2-3 years older. It is all in how you take care of yourself, and how you act. Are you treating him like he is younger? Do you have to be the one who wears the pants in the family?

Attitude has a lot to do with this.

Society will always judge and set limits on everything. Age has nothing to do with love and do not let anyone tell you otherwise. Be your own self and enjoy a good loving relationship regardless of age.
