This is a question that should be asked to your wife and the minister who will be doing the baptizing. Getting baptized is not a fast food restaurant you'd like to try. It is a spiritual commitment to God and you need to read the Bible and get the answers from the proper sources.

Depends on the religion. Catholics go through a program called RCIA (can't recall the words to the acronym). In our church it is more informal, but baptism is a full body baptism.

You should not get baptized for someone else. You should get baptized if you feel the calling.

If you don't want it then don't expect much. That is something that should be done when and because you want to do it.

Ideally, you want to be baptized in flowing (living) water rather than stagnant. The idea is that your body will be clean and if you do it in stagnant water it kind of diminishes that. All parts of your body must come into contact with water so you either go naked or wear a light gown.

Some churches baptize you by simple sprinkling of water over your head, ex: Methodist, Catholic. Other religions baptize by total submersion in water, ex: Baptist. What is the religion?

I won't even answer the second question but have a comment on the first one! Do you want to get baptized? You shouldn't do it just because she wants you to! That is a very personal decision! Good luck!

Do it only if you know deep down in your heart that the Lord is telling you to do it. He will not rush you. I don't mean to offend your wife, but it is the Lord that you should obey instead of her. At the same time, the Lord may be using her as a vessel. You never know. My advice is that I would pray about it. Then you will know when the Lord wants you to get baptized.

I was baptized only a few years ago after becoming a member of my husbands church(Baptist). I was super nervous to get up in front of everyone but it's really simple. I just put on a robe,walked down into the pool with the pastor and he asked me if I had accepted Christ as my personal Savior and I said yes. He dipped me into the water and I got out-quick and painless. I had put it off not for any doubts of my faith but the thought of doing that in front of so many people-turns out it wasn't anything to be nervous about:)
