Bit of a general stereotype there, however, it comes down to culture.

Middle Eastern culture is still rather tribalised and it is traditional to marry within your tribe or wider family network.

It consolidates property and wealth ownership and ensures that the wealth is retained within a family/tribal group

It is customary for the father of an Arab girl to offer the girl to her cousins before allowing her to marry outside the family. Apparently some of these cousins go for it.

I have never heard that before, but i hope they don't as its not natural and normal and shouldn't be. Also leads to deformed babies
