so i went to a this lawyer to get a simple divorce, its been 2 weeks and i havent heard from her, i already left 2 messages and nothing, i payed in advance (stupid i know) she said that she can get me divorced in 10 days and its been 14 and nothing???? she gave me a reciept but its just a simple reciept that you can buy anywhere, only thing i got its a copy you get from the bank that she cashed the check i gave her....so if i go down there and ask her for my money back and she refuses what can i do?????

Lawyer have a very hard time scamming people. The BAR just does not allow such things, and the penalties are very very steep. Look to the court Record for a notice of appearance of counsel, If its not there, contact the bar association with your complaint. It will handled fast by them. |
