I want to get married outside in a garden...is that too feminine?

My girl and I are starting to discuss marriage a lot lately ever since a recent pregnancy scare! So we figured that we might as well go ahead and tie the knot real soon. We haven't figured out a date yet but we are already planning how we want it. She wants it in a shrine or African temple.....and I want it outside in a garden and barefoot; no tuxedo either! I guess that comes from my Carribean culture. But anyway my buddies keep telling me that getting married outside is a woman's idea or dream! I found that very offensive after I thought about it. But is it?

It is actually. There's no way most men would suggest it unless they were trying to marry on the cheap since a weekend in Vegas would be less expensive and a much better alternative. Barefoot at a wedding sounds neither masculine nor romantic...it just sounds cheap.

No a garden is not too feminine at all. I think you need to find a place that you'll both like. How about in the garden of the Temple?

Nature is a beautiful thing weather your male or female. There is nothing wrong with being free and outdoors in your bare feet, it's kind of romantic and I think it sounds wonderful. Don't let anyone else make a decision for you or criticize your decision, it's your wedding and hopefully you'll only do it once in your lifetime. Make memories.

It's cool and really when you think about it does it really matter where you get married.
You found your soulmate so garden,shrine,side of the road ...who cares.

No not at all is that fem, you can do what you want. I think its very creative and unique to have an outdoor wedding that is barefoot with no tux. How on earth is that fem?? Lol, you taking back to the motherland.

Edit: Maybe because you said garden, women usually are in gardens when you think of it its hard work too~`perhaps if you said the beach or a park they would not have reacted as they did which is dumb imo because its all essentially a similar scenery.
