I want to marry someone who stutters, worried that I may not like him for long?

I am attractive girl and met this attractive person. He has everything right in him, but, he has a slight speech impediment - stutter.
I still like him, but, worried if I may feel bad in the long term.
Is there anyone who's spouse has similar problem? Can you tell how you feel about it?
is there any treatment for this? When I speak to him over phone, I can't even notice, but, when we talk face to face, I can tell.
Please don't criticize me for asking this question. I have a genuine concern.

Several relatives of mine stuttered. They all had wonderful marriages. There is help for stuttering. Stuttering can be genetic so you need to also consider how you would feel if you had a child by this man and the child started stuttering. If you love the person rather than how they speak, you will be better able to help them overcome their stuttering.

Sorry I have to criticize. You are debating whether or not to marry someone you *like* based on a speech problem. Marriage is about love, commitment and honoring each other. If you wonder about marrying him over a stutter- don't bother getting married. |

Ok, so you want to MARRY this guy, but worried that you may not like him for long because of his stutter? My gosh, how shallow can you be?! He has everything you want, but he stutters. Well, stop the world, and stop this relationship immediately. This poor guy needs someone in his life who will love him DESPITE his stutter.
BTW, did you know that James Earl Jones stutters? There is help for it. Not that you care. |

Well before you go any further with this man you need to realize what you want. Do not string him along and then one day realize you don't like the way he talks. Yes there is help for stuttering. |

He can get help from a speech therapist and stop stuttering. My brother did it and you would never know he ever stuttered now.
The bigger issue is you and your feelings for this man. If the stuttering would ever make the slightest difference in how you feel about him, you should not marry him, you do not really love him or you would not care |

So... you're genuinely concerned that you may not like him for long because he stutters? Then don't marry him.
If you don't love the person unconditionally and accept everything about them, you have no business getting married to them.
WHO CARES if he stutters a bit? If perfect speech is that high on your priority list perhaps you need to re-evaluate your priorities. |

My husband has a slight stutter. Only when he is upset or nervous about something. I have been with him for about 7yrs and honestly i haven't really noticed it anymore. If it really bothers him, the he should go for treatment. If not...then who cares. If you love him then you will accept him and all of his differences. |

im not trying to criticize you or anything but if you really love him, you would see past his stuttering and learn to deal with it. it shouldnt
matter if he stutters, you should love him no matter what.

If you love him then you will marry him no matter what. If you have been dating long enough to consider marriage then go for it! Beside you can always help him with his stuttering because it will eventually go away if he goes to a speech therapist. But if it bugs you enough that you dont think that you will be able to stand it then break it off before you get committed. |

Look, seeing as how you only like him, you made no mention of love, then you shouldn't marry him. There is help for stutters. I suggest you move on. Don't think about marrying someone you just like. |
