You need nothing else. You do not have to explain your reasons for quitting nor what your other opportunity is.

If you want to quit, then simply do it. The least amount of information you give for why you are quitting is best. You don't ever want to say or put anything in writing that can come back later to haunt you or put you in a bad light. Stick to the facts: "This is to inform you that I am resigning from my position and this will serve as my 2 weeks notice. My last day will be (and then insert the date here, which would be 2 weeks from the date of your letter). " Sign your name to it, and that's it. Period. If asked why you can state you wish to pursue other goals in your life at this time and have decided to move on. Good luck.

well what ever you do dont' go to human resources.. I too had a bad boss she was finally fired and then i was moved over to another male boss he was terrible too only in the country 6 mths and the way he would speak to women was terrible. and he would yell smash his hand on his desk while your in his office closed door of course so no one would see. call you names call you stupid and make remarks to you .. and i told human resources.. and then they changed my job on me without no notice just saying managment changes have happend and you are going here with no training and when i ask to be trained they said no. and then I told them well how can i possible talk to thse customers without the knowlege and computers you want me to have . ( i knew it wouldn't be professsional the cx would think were running a crappy business) so I said if your not giving me any training you need to fire me. as i can't do this job.. they said we can't fire you .. we have nothing on you and you haven't done anything wrong but you can quit and we'll stand up for you saying your job duties have changed . so i did and later they lied and denyed they ever said that to me. So your best if you have time to find a new job i wasn't give time. I had one day. So never go to human resources they won't stick up for you and they will change things to get rid of you rather than the person who is in the wrong. in my case my boss is friends with the president so naturally they wouldn't get rid of him
