It's called a hearing because a judge or jury is hearing your case. They are considering the evidence and statements being made. If a deaf person is in court, an interpretor would be provided so the judge and jury could hear the case.

unfortuatly it is still called a hearing because its where the judge says something and makes a decision but all other comments are defamitory because i am deafd and have been to court
