There is the undertone of ownership, but I think mostly it is meant to be like bragging. (See that beautiful woman?-that is "my woman").
Same thing with "my man". |

It's no big deal unless someone makes it a big deal. Common sense will tell you that no one owns another person but these days we have to be politically correct. I personally don't find it offensive and saying "my man" or "my woman" has always been a sign of pride in my relationships. |

I hate it both ways. Usually very possessive people use those terms. They're less interested into the relationship itself, they just 'want' to 'have' that person. |
