not necessarily no. ESPECIALLY in Michigan. Since the economy here is the worst in the country, there are thousands of beautiful homes being foreclosed on and being sold by the bank. in fact now is the time to buy. i live in michigan and ive been looking myself. :) most of these homes are 3+ bdr 2+ bth, need no work, and go for around 50,000. From what Ive seen in the thumb area anyway. Just make sure you know if theres any taxes youll have to pay on them. But Id definatley recommend looking into some of these foreclosures. |

Price alone cannot tell you whether your $70K is a good value. You need to inspect any property and do your homework about the area the house is in. Because a crack house mansion in the projects is still a crack house...
Before you invest a large some of money, do your homework on the specifics of the deal and make a value judgement. It could be just 5 bucks and still be a bad deal, you just don't know that yet. |

It depends on where in Michigan. Locally, there are a lot of houses near this range while not exactly exceptional they are livable. For the most part though I think you will find that price range to be "fixer uppers". |

in today's time that should be a decent house at that price. maybe needing some minor cosmetics done but should be a nice enough place where as it would be worth it. some parts of Mi. are worse then others so location will make a big difference in how much house you can buy for that amount.
