No I could not, because even with all the obvious benefits and fun one could have there would also be all the other less amusing aspects of the confusion of love, loyalty,
and heart/ that would hurt, therefore negating any joy
made possible from such arrangement. And um i am all about being as happy as possible! JuJu |

There was a time (when I was young, dumb and full of...answers) that I toyed with the idea of polygamy, but after 23 years of blissful marriage I find it hard enough to stay out of the doghouse with one woman pulling my reins. I'd never get out of it with two women ruling my roost! |

Maybe... then when I get sick of one I can bring the other one in from the dog house and kick the first one out. Switch it up a bit, ya know? :) |

Actually, my wife and I have discussed this for a couple of years. And then, out comes Big Love on HBO! Woohoo! That is by far our favorite show at the moment.
We have an 'open relationship' and have been happily married for almost 10 years. To those that say there would 'always be jealousy', I assure you that if you choose carefully, there won't be. My wife and I have had our 'open relationship' for about 6 years now, and we never have that green monster pop up its ugly head at us. I have freinds/relatives that have very closed relationships that are always jealous.
I don't know if we will actually ever add a spouse or not, but the thought is intriguing. We would not be your typical ploygymists. She doesn't wear long dresses, she gets her hair cut and she doesn't always wear it on one long braid. I hold a great job and when we can make it we go to a baptist church. We have a nice home and a couple of new vehicles. I am definately not a control freak, as is evident when we go to bars....I know that alot of poly men are extreme control freaks.
It isn't a question of whether it is acceptable or normal for us...we may do it anyway.....we shall see!
Hey, here is an idea, let's all marry each other.....you are a hottie! |

Hell NO. I already have more than one ex. God forbid if they start wanting more money. I am not sure if I really even want a new one yet. At my age, likely it will be recycling. |

No. My one wife wears me out in the bedroom. Having to please another one would probably kill me.
Although, on second thought, if I did have a second wife, while my current wife works, the second one could keep house, cook, clean, do laundry, take care of kids, etc. I could then work outside the home too and help to provide financially for the family.
Let me think on that and get back to you. |

I would definitely do it. There are just so many wonderful women in this world that I would love to have as my spouse. Being with 1 special woman is fantastic, but I would constantly think about what it would be like to be with other women. |

I think it is tough enough maintaining and nurturing just one relationship. With two or more, it is not only twice the work. You have to manage the "conflicts of interest" too. I'll stick to one. |

Oh my gosh...one husband is way more than enough for me. So my answer is a definite NO!!!
Don't get me wrong or anything...my husband is WONDERFUL...marriage to ONE person is just a lot of handle already...lol.
Let's see...more husbands would mean:
More sports to learn/watch/hear about
More clothes to wash...and you know I hate laundry
More messes to pick up (besides my own)
More needs to attend to
More holidays being divided
More expenses to balance for the checkbook
...should I continue? Okay...
Less bathroom time
Less space on the bed
Less space for my clothes in the closet
More chances of the toilet seat being up
More anniversaries, birthdays, etc. to remember
More stress and headaches...
I could probably think up of more, but I think you get the picture.
Besides...in marriage "TWO will become one flesh" (Mark 10:8)
It's not more than two! =) |

I sometimes feel like I have more then one spouse. Our family is extended and huge. No two of my children have the same pair of parents. I feel I have an obligation to my former spouses(we have kids, so it is a given), it is almost like a marriage contract.
I think having more then one spouse would require a level of maturity that I do not believe most people would have. I think creating a sustainable dynamic with multiple spouses could be tricky.
With that said. If that other spouse was the woman across the street from me that gardens topless, I could probably manage. |
