I know it's bizarre, it's a long story. I know the right thing to do is obviously pay the rent, if I don't and we don't really have a legal separation yet what happens? Can the parents file small claims on a verbal rent agreement? etc?? just curious?? Or can my Wife just file for a legal separation or Divorce and I'd be responsible for back rent when we appear in court???

My Wife is not working currently , I was sole supporter and paying all other bills..

I think they dont have a case if you dont pay. its there place and they allow their daughter to live there...... end of story. if she asked you to leave she should of thought of how she will be supported. she knew her mommy and daddy will stand by her. if you were living elsewhere she would have to move to mommies anyway right?
why not be a man and inform her you will pay for two months..... in the meantine she will have to look for work. After two months she will be on her own. sounds fair to me? |

If she is the one asking you to leave she most have a plan or her parents have her back. I wouldn't pay s-h-i-t. She will have to take care of her self anyway after the separation/divorce. |

There is no legal contract, the burden of proof will be on the parents if they decide to sue. I highly doubt they have a case. |

If you want to try to get her back, then the answer is easy - pay! It will show you care about her and her situation, and not doing so certainly won't help your cause. |

Oh hell no! The rent was being paid where you live, which included her. Now that you have to find another place, you should pay YOUR rent. Guess its time for your wife to get a job!

If she asks you to leave then I'd take that as an eviction. I would only pay rent if I were living there. You didn't leave to bail out you left because you were asked to. |
